For the past 10 years she has been working in the Aged Care and Disability Sectors to deliver information sessions via In-Home Consultations to assist with solutions to help maintain mobility, independence & quality of life in the home. Previous professional experience includes private sector and self-employed management in various industries including Finance, Hospitality, Textiles, Mobility & Therapeutic Goods.
Deb has first hand experience navigating home care packages as she assists her elderly mother with her funding, and is committed to advocating for people who wish to maintain their independence and lifestyle choices while remaining in their own home.

Home Care Packages – How To Apply
An ACAS assessment is required if you need to access any level of Home Care Package or entry to Government Funded age care basic in-home services.
In order to arrange an Aged Care Assessment (ACAS) you will need to contact My Aged Care Customer Service Centre or fill out the online form. Alternatively your own Doctor, Nurse or other Health professional can organize this for you on your behalf and with your consent.
My Aged Care Contact Centre – 1800 22 22 00
My Aged Care will refer your application to an ACAS team that is in your Local Government Area (LGA). For example if you live in the Outer East, your referral may be sent to Eastern Metropolitan ACAS Outer East which covers the Local Government areas of Knox, Maroondah and Yarra Ranges. Or you may live in the Northern Metropolitan LGA, your referral will go to The Northern Metropolitan ACAS Bundoora which covers the LGA of Banyule (part), Darebin (part) Nillumbik and Whittlesea. Eligibility is based on your care needs determined through a face-to-face assessment.

Getting started is easy, once you’ve been approved for a home care package contact us and we’ll send you our simple, easy to read 4 page agreement. Once this has been completed and returned we’ll process it (generally within 1 business day) and be in touch regarding next steps.
Yes! Switching is easy.
- you’ll need to agree on an exit date with your existing provider, this might depend on your home care agreement, ie two weeks
- provide the date to Local Guardians and the contact details of your existing provider to ensure home care package unspent funds can be transferred across
