Self Managed DIY
A DIY (do-it-yourself) option best suited if you would like to mostly self-manage your package. We maintain oversight and provide a basic level of support, while working alongside you to manage your package funds and payments.
Self Managed PLUS
Ideal if you want to self-manage but would like assistance with set up and some additional help along the way.

Our self-managed home care model is suited to individuals who desire a hands-on approach to managing their Home Care Package . If you’re someone who values the freedom to shape your own care, make informed decisions and actively participate in managing your package, there’s a good chance we’d make a great team. The access and ability to use a computer (or support from someone who can help you) will also be important.

My wife has an Aged Care package. Though we employ home care workers directly, Local (& Capital) Guardians have been very professional and helpful in the management, advice and other aspects (medical - advisory support - financial) of her package. We are very satisfied with their costs when compared to some other providers which we have knowledge.
Earlier this year (2022) my wife was funded for Home Care Level 3. I was at a loss as to who to take on as a provider discovering that many of them had all kinds of fees amounting to 30% to 40% of our package. I knew that I could self-manage the package and after continuing to search I found Local Guardians on the Sunshine Coast. Our manager with LG guided me through the entire process of creating the Care Plan and budget and signing us up. After 3 months I was fully managing the package and LG was charging only an 8% overall fee. That meant so many more funds were available to support my wife.
