Choose from two pricing options – Self Managed DIY or Self Managed PLUS. As the names suggest you’ll be in the driver’s seat regardless of which option you choose. The only difference is how much help you’d like from us along the way.
Self Managed DIY
Our Fees = 10% of the package value (* after 3 months, subject to terms)
A DIY (do-it-yourself) option for those who would like to entirely self-manage their package. We provide you with a basic level of support and work alongside you to manage your package funds and payments.

(*) All DIY clients commence as provisional DIY which means initially the monthly fee is 20% of package value. After 3 months, and having successfully demonstrated the ability to self manage (see Self Management Charter) fees are reduced to 10%.
Self Managed PLUS
Our fees = 20% of package value
For those who would like to self-manage but require extra help along the way. We complete full package set up and are more hands on in helping you navigate the aged care system, finding providers (you schedule them) and in maximising your home care package. We also work alongside you to manage your package funds and payments.

Paying for services with your Home Care Package
With Local Guardians, you get to negotiate fees with your chosen service providers. All services provided by external service providers will be billed directly to your Home Care Package at your negotiated rates.

Local Guardians stand out for their low fees for Self-managing clients, prompt processing through Community Guardians of payments, monthly financial statements & reimbursements. Where they struggle a bit is maintaining staffing allocations for Care Management - ie consistency of information, interpretation of requirements, understanding of the broader service sector, etc. But senior managers were always willing to listen, discuss the differences & even follow up & make changes where they could see &/or understand that they may have misinterpreted or not been flexible enough to differing requirements.
