Can continence aids (pads, pull-ups, etc.) be funded?

Yes they can be funded as nursing care consumables if:

• The Support at Home recipient has a Notice of Decision that includes nursing care consumables; and
• a nurse confirms and documents a clinical need in the care plan and the the type is appropriate.

Continence aids funded this way are fully funded by the government and do not need a personal contribution.

If you transitioned from the old Home Care Packages and haven’t been reassessed yet, you can generally access these products, where your clinicals need is properly documented within your care plan.
